Chris Hedges spent nearly two decades as a foreign correspondent in Central America, the Middle East, Africa and the Balkans. He reported from over 50 countries and has worked for The Christian Science Monitor, National Public Radio, The Dallas Morning News and The New York Times, where he was a foreign correspondent for 15 years. In 2002, he was part of a New York Times team awarded a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting for their coverage of global terrorism.
Hedges is author of twelve books, including the New York Times best seller “Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt” co-authored with the cartoonist Joe Sacco. This interview is based on his 2010 book, “Death of the Liberal Class”. Hedges is a senior fellow at The Nation Institute in New York City and weekly columnist the Truthdig.
